Meet Jordy from Nightingale Housing!
Who's Jordy and what does he do?
Jordan joined the Nightingale team as part of the delivery team, leading the Wurru-Wurru Biik project. Bringing over 7 years of experience from his previous role with tier-one construction company Multiplex, delivering complex residential, mixed-use and commercial projects, Jordan has a strong passion for the sustainable built environment. Jordan holds an Honours degree in Construction Management from RMIT University.
Who is Nightingale Housing?
Nightingale Housing is a not-for-profit organization that provides homes which are socially, financially and environmentally sustainable. We believe that homes should be built for people, not profit. Since we began, our aim has been to lead by example, reorienting the housing market to focus on delivering good outcomes in designer led housing for owner occupiers, rather than investors.
Nightingale homes are:
- Sold at cost
- 100% carbon neutral in operations
- Minimum 7.5 NatHERS rated
- Car free where practical
- Located close to public transport
- Designed to support community
- Only sold to owner-occupiers
- Designed to reduce operating costs
- Sold via a ballot
- 20% Priority ballot to key services workers, Indigenous Australians, people with a disability, carers and single women aged 55 and over.
- Up to 20% designated to Community Housing Providers
