Specifies the electrical input to a personal hearing aid in order to ensure compatibility with external electrical or electroacoustical signal sources. Technically identical with IEC Publication 118-6.

This standard specifies the electrical, marking and safety characteristics of a circuit for an external electrical input to a personal hearing aid in order to ensure compatibility with external electrical or electroacoustic signal sources.This standard does not cover the interconnection of the parts of a Cros (contralateral routing of signals) or Bi-Cros hearing aid, when designed as a complete system.Throughout this standard all sound pressure levels (abbreviated SPL) are referred to 20 mPa.
