Relates to the lining of pipelines of any material and diameter, by either of two mechanical processes. Preparation of the pipe surface, proportioning, mixing and application of the mortar lining, thickness, curing, finish, repairs and inspection are specified. Appendices provide guidance on precautions to ensure safe working in the pipeline and discuss the normal responsibilities of purchasers and contractors in so far as effective liaison and avoidance of any inconvenience to water users are concerned. Sampling of mortar in the field and testing of mortar test cubes is also dealt with. For lining of steel pipes in the factory see AS 1281.
