Applies specifically to ovens for use at a maximum temperature of 540 degrees Celsius, in which there may be an explosion hazard due to the presence of flammable volatiles from material being processed in the oven. It deals with design and construction, and establishes ventilation requirements aimed at the safe operation of the oven. Appendices tabulate combustion characteristics for common flammable liquids, show methods and examples of calculation of ventilation, and illustrate an oven safety design form.
