Applies to the manufacture and erection of security fences for factories, schools and offices, and security and subdivision fences for playing fields, open air storage and areas where restricted access is desired. Requirements for materials used for steel tubes, chainwire, barbed wire, fittings, galvanized coating and footings are specified. Dimensions of materials, spacing of posts and erection details are covered. Components are defined and illustrated in an appendix.

This standard details specific requirements for galvanized rail-less chainwire security fences and gates. Two heights of chainwire mesh are included, namely 2000 mm and 2500 mm. Gate widths above 1000 mm are in increments of 500 mm up to and including 4000 mm. Barbed wire may be added if required by the purchaser.NOTE: It is not intended to limit other designs or arrangements of chainwire fence which may give improved service.
