Applies to refrigerated cabinets for the retail sale of packaged frozen foods. It provides for two climate classes, for use where the ambient temperature will not exceed 25 degrees Celsius (e.g. a naturally mild climate or a fully and continuously air-conditioned store) and for use where the ambient temperature may exceed 25 degrees Celsius but will not exceed 32 degrees Celsius. Performance requirements and methods of test are specified, together with other requirements relating to construction, volume and area ratings, and markings.

This standard specifies requirements for frozen food retail cabinets, as defined in Clause 1.4.5. It specifies requirements for construction and performance and prescribes uniform procedures for determining the performance and capacities of such cabinets.
