This code applies to pleasure boats up to 7.5 m in length, having engines as their primary source of power. It applies to all types of materials and forms of construction, and to both outboard and inboard engine installations. It does not apply to yachts with auxiliary engines or to boats used for normal commercial purposes or exclusively for racing. The Code includes requirements for maximum load, persons and power capacities, and for reserve buoyancy, stability and testing. It also covers requirements for hull, engine, fuel system, electrical instruments, ventilation, LP gas installations, and fire protection. Recommendations regarding safety equipment, the construction and use of boat trailers, and operational and maintenance practices are given in Appendices G, H and J.
