Specifies coatings on metallic and non-metallic materials for decorative and protective applications. A table of preferred thicknesses from 2 to 40 micrometres includes recommended applications. Thickness of undercoat is given, and coating requirements are specified for appearance, thickness, silver content, adhesion, and resistance to tarnish. Appendices include procedures for thickness tests, adhesion tests and anti-tarnishing test, and sampling procedures for coated items.
