Specifies requirements for mastic adhesives intended for bonding the back surfaces of gypsum plasterboard or fibre reinforced gypsum plaster sheet to wood and metal framing members. Requirements such as consistency/sag resistance, transfer after open assembly time, wetting characteristics, bond strength in shear and in tension, bridging characteristics and flexibility after heat ageing, are laid down. Information to be supplied by the supplier, labelling and packaging requirements are also given.

This standard specifies requirements for mastic adhesives intended for bonding the back surface of gypsum plasterboard or fibre reinforced gypsum plaster sheet to wood framing members and to metal framing members comprising zinc and zinc alloy coated steel, or aluminium.
