Defines terms and symbols as used in the separate parts of the Australian Standard prepared for the measurement of water flow in open channels. It is technically identical with and reproduced from ISO 772:1988.

This International Standard defines terms and symbols used in the International Standards prepared for the measurement of liquid flow in open channels. The terms and their definitions are grouped into sections according to the method of measurement, or in relation to a particular subject. For terms related to statistical methods and the application of these methods to the measurement of liquid flow in open channels, the user is referred to ISO 3534 and ISO 5168, respectively. The list of symbols is given in annex A.Annex B lists those International Standards which deal with the measurement of liquid flow in open channels. Publications consulted when preparing this International Standard are listed in annex C.An alphabetical index of terms defined in English, French and Russian is given at the end of this International Standard.
