This Standard specifies requirements for permanent and temporary marking of overhead cables and their supporting structures for visual warnings to pilots of aircraft involved in intentional and legal low-level flying operations. Typical flying operations include aerial application, mustering, power line inspection, media and ballooning.Markers specified in this part of the Standard are designed on the assumption that a pilot undertaking intentional and legal low-level flying is familiar with the obstacles in the area involved and requires only a visual reminder of the exact location of the cables.NOTE: Appendix A provides guidance on the installation of markers.
