This Standard specifies requirements for the dimensions and properties of fibre insulating board (insulation board). Appendices provide information on recommended procedures for testing and acceptance, purchasing guidelines, recommended practices for handling and storage of hardboard, and preferred sheet dimensions and quantities.

This Standard specifies requirements for the dimensions and properties of fibre insulating board (insulation board).NOTES:1 Alternative methods for demonstrating compliance with this Standard are given in Appendix A.2 Appendix B gives further information on recommended procedures for testing and acceptance.3 Appendix C lists information that should be supplied by the purchaser at the time of inquiry or order.4 Appendix D describes recommended practices for the handling and storage of fibre insulating board (insulation board).Fibre insulating board (insulation board) shall comply with dimension and property requirements specified in Section 2. The requirements for dimensions and shape apply to each individual sheet, while requirements for density, bending strength and thermal conductivity are specified in terms of the sampling of a lot.
