CONTAINED IN VOL. 04.05, 2017 Describes solid kiln fired brick made from shale, clay or mixtures thereof used with chemical resistant mortars suitable for masonry construction in contact with chemicals in flue gases in industrial chimneys.

1.1This specification covers solid kiln fired brick made from clay, shale, or mixtures thereof suitable for use in masonry construction in contact with the chemicals present in flue gases found in industrial chimneys. These brick are normally used with chemical-resistant mortars.

1.2Terminology related to industrial floor brick is found in Terminology C1232.

1.3Units—The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
