Three grades. Colour, crystallizing point (glacial acetic acid only), acetic acid content, residue on evaporation, iron content (not technical grade), inorganic chlorides and sulphates, heavy metals, formic acid content, acetaldehyde monomer content, water content (glacial acetic acid only).

This Part of BS 576 specifies requirements for three grades of acetic acid suitable for industrial use. It does not apply to material for medicinal use or to material for photographic use.
