Gives a procedure to determine individual polcylcic aromatic hydrocarbon content and total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content of air-dried samples of soil. Total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are not measured in this procedure. BS 10175 advises on sampling. Features of specific sites need to be taken into consideration by users, and recovery trials may be undertaken in some circumstances.
