The syntax and semantics of a component model (see Clause6, \'Component Model\'), based on CORBA IDL, and a corresponding meta-model (see Clause11, \'Interface Repository Metamodel\').
A language to describe the structure and state of component implementations (see Clause7, \'OMG CIDL Syntax and Semantics\'), and a corresponding meta-model (see Clause12, \'CIF Metamodel\').
A programming model for constructing component implementations (see Clause8, \'CCM Implementation Framework\').
A runtime environment for component implementations (see Clause9, \'The Container Programming Model\').
