This standard is included in DIN Handbook 188. Requirements and test methods are specified for laboratory fume cupboards of capacity up to 1 cubic metre for storing sealed containers of flammable liquids (as defined in the German Regulations on the storage, handling and transport of flammable liquids by land: Verordnung ueber Anlagen zur Lagerung, Abfuellung und Befoerderung brennbarer Fluessigkeiten zu Lande). Storage of flammable liquids in work areas is also covered by TRbF 022 (in the series Technische Regel fuer brennbarer Fluessigkeiten = German code of practice for flammable liquids).
