Proposes requirements for all types of ophthalmic lenses for spectacles, both before and after laboratory processing and mounting into frames. Separate consideration is given to semi-finished lens blanks, finished stock lenses, edged lenses and mounted lenses. Separate optical and geometric tolerances are suggested for each lens type. Finished spectacles, also known as "ready made or "magnifying spectacles which are sold over the counter without a prescription are covered by this Standard.
