Proposes requirements for the design, construction and performance of push-button assemblies used in conjunction with intersections or foot crossings controlled by traffic signals, for the purpose of registering a pedestrian demand. Includes requirements covering the form and dimensions of various elements of the assembly, to facilitate uniformity in the appearance of the equipment to road users. Also proposes new requirements for audible and tactile signals to assist visually handicapped pedestrians.
