Proposes the adoption of IEC 61779-1:1998, which specifies general requirements for construction and testing (and describes the test methods) of portable, transportable and fixed apparatus for the detection and measurement of flammable gas or vapour concentrations with air, in potentially explosive atmospheres and in mines susceptible to firedamp. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
