Proposes the adoption of IEC 61046:1993 including Amend.1:1995 which together specify general and safety requirements for electronic step-down convertors for use on d.c. supplies up to 250 V, or a.c. supplies up to 1000 V, with a rated output voltage less than or equal to, 50 V r.m.s. at a frequency deviating from the supply frequency, or less than or equal to, 50 square root 2 V unsmoothed d.c. for use with tungsten-halogen or other filament lamps. A copy of IEC 61046 with Amend.1 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office or Standards New Zealand. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
