A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

A basis is given for establishing a European system for mutual acceptance of calibration certificates and test reports issued by laboratories accredited by the EAL member National Accreditation Bodies. This system can only work when the various national systems are equivalent and there is confidence in other systems.
