The 5th Edition of the Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook was published in April 2011. A new development in delivery of the knowledge contained in the Handbook was the availability of supporting spreadsheets on the website of Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia.

As the Handbook has been applied, there have been several amendments identified for these spreadsheets. These amendments have been addressed in a recent review of the spreadsheets.

On 18 July, a revised set of spreadsheets has been posted and made publically available.

Current users of the Reinforced Design Handbook, 5th Edition are urged to access the revised file and familiarise themselves with the amendments.

The fifth edition is a complete rewrite of the Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook and brings it into line with the 2009 edition of AS 3600 Concrete Structures and Amendment No. 1-2010. It also takes into account changes in other Australian Standards that have occurred since the fourth edition was published. In line with current design technology spreadsheets are used to illustrate the design principles of reinforced concrete, the requirements of AS 3600 and the recommendations of this Handbook..
