Deze methoden zijn van toepassing op continue, onderbroken en op incidentele blootstelling bij alle arbeidsvormen, zowel binnen als buiten. Specifieke effecten die samenhangen met bepaalde meteorologische verschijnselen (bijvoorbeeld neerslag) zijn niet in de methode opgenomen en moeten door middel van andere methoden worden bepaald.
