La présente Norme européenne donne des spécifications et des exigences relatives aux escaliers préfabriqués réalisés en bois massif, c'est-à-dire lorsque les composants qui satisfont aux caractéristiques de résistance mécanique et de stabilité sont en bois massif. Ces escaliers sont conçus de manière traditionnelle. La présente Norme européenne concerne les escaliers: préfabriqués, partiellement préfabriqués ou sous forme de composants, y compris balustrades et mains courantes à usage interne et externe.
