Specifies European environmental conditions and deals with use of on board electromechanical, electronic and electrical equipment for rolling stock, for temperature, altitude, air movement, humidity, snow, rain, hail, ice, lightning, vibrations, pollution, shocks, solar radiation, acoustic noise environment, electromagnetic interference environment, supply system features. Particularly specifies interface conditions between vehicle and environment and general environmental rules for rolling stock equipment, especially main sub-systems (level 3 - specified by R009-003 of a vehicle (cabling, large components, cubicles, etc). Mining vehicles, cranes, cable cars and passenger effects on equipment/equipment effect on passengers are not covered.
