This standard presents criteria for protecting against flooding within compartments of LWRs as the result of the initiating events listed in Section 3. It includes criteria and selected guidance for: 1) defining flooding sources, 2) performing hydraulic and structural evaluations, 3) providing drainage requirements, 4) protecting equipment and instrumentation from submergence, 5) providing level detection, 6) defining the extent and qualification of mitigating equipment, and 7) sampling and eventually removing the fluid which caused the flooding.
