Specifies requirements for the production, testing and identification of head-hardened steel rails for railway purposes, and is applicable to rail sizes of 60 kg/m and greater. Dimensions and tolerances, head-hardening process, mechanical testing and non-destructive testing are included. Appendices include purchasing requirements, hardness conversion table, diffusion treatment for hydrogen removal and ultrasonic testing.
