Sets out a method for determining the permeability to gases of dense, shaped refractory products having a permeability not greater than 20 x 10(sup)-12m(sup)2.

This Standard specifies the method for determining the permeability to gases of dense, shaped refractory products. The determination is normally made using air as the gas. The method is not suitable for materials with a permeability of greater than 20 1012m2.NOTE: The method specified in this Standard takes account of the dynamic viscosity of the gas. The results obtained are therefore not directly comparable with those obtained by earlier methods which took no account of viscosity and whose results were therefore valid only at the temperature of the test.
