Specifies performance requirements for incandescent lamps rated 25 W to 200 W with a voltage or voltage range of 100 V to 250 volt and a nominal life of 1000 h, and a method to be used by manufacturers to show compliance with the requirements of the Standard. This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from IEC 64:1987.

This standard applies to incandescent lamps for general lighting service which comply with the requirements in IEC Publication 432: Safety Requirements for Tungsten Filament Lamps for Domestic and Similar General Lighting Purposes, and having:- a nominal life of 1000 h,- a rated wattage of 25 W to 200 W, inclusive,- a rated voltage of 100 V to 250 V, inclusive (if marked with a voltage range, not exceeding ±2.5% of the mean voltage),Note. - In countries in the process of changing from 220 V to 230 V nominal supply voltage, a range of ±3.5% is temporarily accepted.- bulbs pear shaped or mushroom shaped, - bulbs finished clear or internally frosted, - caps B22d or E27 as set out in Appendix A.Requirements for batch testing are included to facilitate the assessment of individual batches. Batch testing cannot be used for certification purposes.
