Specifies requirements for secure cryptographic devices which incorporate the cryptographic processes. The Standard has two primary purposes: to state the requirements concerning both the operational characteristics of SCD's and the management of such devices throughout all states of their life cycle and to standardize the methodology for verifying compliance with those requirements. This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO 13491-1:1998.
