Provides minimum requirements for the safe design, performance and rational use of energy of gas water heaters.

These requirements apply to new gas water heaters with natural draught or fan assisted combustion systems, constructed totally from new materials and components and intended for use with natural gas, town gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and tempered liquefied petroleum gas (TLP) with gas consumptions not exceeding 500 MJ/h.
