This specification applies to the design, construction and performance of heat-actuated detectors for use in automatic fire alarm installations in accordance with AS CA15. Provision is made for four types of detector: Type A - Normal temperature compensating types; type B- Normal temperature uncompensating types; type C - High temperature compensating types; and Type D - High temperature uncompensating types. Recommendations as to the suitability of a type of detector for use under specified operating conditions are set out in Appendix G.
