This Standard applies to reciprocating saws such as jig saws and sabre saws. It will supersede AS/NZS 60745.2.11:2003, Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2.11: Particular requirements for reciprocating saws (jig and sabre saws), two years from publication. During this period it is anticipated that regulatory authorities will approve reciprocating saws (jig and sabre saws), to either standard.
