1.1 This test method covers the separation of pigment from solvent-type paints and the calculation of the percent pigment from the results of nonvolatile determinations on the total paint and the separated vehicle.
Note 1-This test method has been proven to be applicable to most solvent-type paints, the exception being those paints containing severely bleeding pigments or pigments such as carbon black that are very difficult or impossible to centrifuge.1.2 This standard does not purport to address the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.>
