Screw type and swivelling-ring swing-bolt type. Working pressures not exceeding 100 lb/sq in. Primarily for use with water, but may be used for other liquids. Screw type couplings suitable for compressed air. Workmanship, interchangeability, marking, hydraulic testing, materials. Unified form of screw thread. Illustrations with dimensions. See BS 1906.

Part 1 of this standard covers 1½, 2, 2½, 3, 3½ and 4 in. screw type couplings and adaptors for use in conjunction with suction and delivery hose intended for working pressures not exceeding 100 lb/sq. in.
