Measures the ability of oil to separate entrained air. Applies mainly to hydraulic and turbine oils, but is also used for other lubricating oils. For use with petroleum-base lubricants or synthetic fluids eg phosphate esters. Also useful for determination of the release rate of other gases from oil when other gas pressures require adjusting in order to maintain the main gas flow rate.
