METHODS OF TESTING PLASTICS - RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES - DETERMINATION OF THE MELT MASS-FLOW RATE (MFR) AND THE MELT VOLUME-FLOW RATE (MVR) OF THERMOPLASTICS
04-15-2000
11-23-2012
Defines a procedure for determining the melt mass-flow rate (MFR) and melt volume-flow rate (MVR) of thermoplastic materials under specific temperature conditions and load. Usually the test measurement conditions of melt flow rate are defined in the material standard referring to this International Standard. The normal test conditions for thermoplastics are in annexes A and B. The melt flow rate can now be determined by automatic measurement if the melt density at the temperature is known.
