This Part of BS 3224 specifies the essential mechanical and electrical features, excluding lamps and describes photometric tests for elevated lighting units providing lighting guidance for approach, runway and taxiway lighting at land aerodromes.

Light distributions are not specified within this Part of BS 3224 (see the publications referred to in the foreword).
