This Part of BS 3396 specifies requirements for loom-state glass fibre fabrics in a range of thicknesses and weaves and woven from continuous filament yarns of “E” type glass. These fabrics are intended, usually after further treatment, for the reinforcement of rigid plastics mouldings and laminates, with resin or resin systems such as polyester, epoxide, phenolic, silicone and melamine.
