Refers to tumbler dryers including those incorporated in washing machines. Tumbler dryers not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public are within the scope of this standard. Excludes tumbler dryers designed for industrial or commercial purposes and tumbler dryers used in locations where special conditions prevail. Tumbler dryers used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary. Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national authorities responsible for health and water supplies and for the protection of labour.
