Gives recommendations on the siting and suitability of portable fire extinguishers (primarily those conforming to BS EN 3), which are able to be carried by one person, and in use for the protection of buildings and other premises and their contents. Does not give detailed recommendations for small private dwellings. The location and selection of portable extinguishers in caravans, aircraft and marine craft are also excluded.
