Describes reference conditions and methods of declaring power, fuel consumption, lubricating oil consumption and methods of testing reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engines for commercial production, which use liquid or gaseous fuels. It includes RIC engines used for land, rail-traction and marine purposes, but does not include those which propel agricultural tractors, road vehicles and aircraft.
