White, yellow and black paints for application to bituminous and concrete surfaces. Laboratory requirements include initial condition; lead content; retention of glass beads; colour; luminance factor; sheen; hiding power; no pick-up time; flexibility; skid resistance and resistance to abrasion, bleeding, diesel fuel and artificial weathering. Road performance requirements in practical trials include luminance factor, degree of erosion and spread of markings.
