Requirements and dimensions for cables suitable for lighting, power, control, instrumentation and propulsion circuits; rated voltage 8.7/15 kV. The standard is complemented by BS 7917.

This British Standard specifies requirements for the construction, dimensions, and mechanical and electrical properties of cables for fixed wiring of lighting, power, control, instrumentation and propulsion circuits in ships and on mobile and fixed offshore units, having a rated voltage up to and including 8700/15000V.
