MILK BASED INFANT FOODS - DETERMINATION OF FAT CONTENT - GRAVIMETRIC METHOD (REFERENCE METHOD)
01-31-2009
11-23-2012
Defines the reference method to determine the fat content of milk-based infant foods. Applies to liquid, concentrated and dried milk-based infant foods without, or with less than a mass fraction of 5% (dry matter) of dextrin or starch, fruit, meat, vegetable etc. Does not apply to products that have more than a few percent of dextrin or starch, or those containing hard lumps, as they do not dissolve completely in ammonia. Also does not apply to products containing significant quantities of free fatty acids as the results obtained would be too low.
