Requirements and dimensions for cables suitable for lighting, power, control, instrumentation and propulsion circuits; rated voltage 3.3/3.3 kV. The standard complements BS 6883.

This British Standard specifies requirements for the construction, dimensions and mechanical and electrical properties of cables for fixed wiring of lighting, power, control, instrumentation and propulsion circuits in ships and on mobile and fixed offshore units, having a rated voltage up to and including 3300/3300V, and which have fire resistance (limited circuit integrity) in the event of fire.
