    Gives guidance on a systematic approach to the management of building maintenance in the UK. It: stresses the advantages of economy and conveniency which may result from the regular and planned maintenance, provides a check list of types of construction, considers the bearing that the external and internal environments will have, stresses the importance of up-to-date building fabric records and engineering services records, considers the advantages of maintenance guides, recommends frequency of inspection, draws attention to the need for safe access and discusses health and safety requirements.
