Gives the general principles for guided wave testing.

This part of BS9690 provides the general principles for guided wave testing. The specific conditions of application and use of guided wave testing, which depend on the type of object tested, are described in documents which could include: product standards; specifications; codes; contractual documents; written procedures. Unless otherwise specified in the referencing documents the minimum recommendations of this standard are applicable. This standard does not define: extent of testing; optimum test parameters for specific applications; or acceptance criteria.
