Describes a reference method for the determination of the release of lead and cadmium from articles with silicate surfaces of glass, glass ceramic and vitreous enamel which is likely to come into contact with foodstuffs. Also appropriate to vitreous enamelled containers and to those parts of equipment used for industrial use with foodstuffs.
